AM
Rest.
PM
*30 min easy running.
*Strides.
*2x10x 50 m / no recovery / 15 min.
*15 min rest.
*1x "1600 m": 4:16.
*20 min easy running.
*The 2x10x 50:s is the most awful session in the world. It hurts after the third and it gets worse.
*The 1600 (the track around Paavo Nurmi) was ten seconds faster than ever - which is good because I've done it very close to full speed before, and this time i had lactate in my legs before I started.
*This week has been a good week.

I used to hate this session too but I consider that it was the greatest developer I had for 800m. Once I got used to it I felt able to race 800m in any way. I certainly could cope with the stress of races and repeat two races in one day as well.
the 1600m I think shows that the chemical changes to get the anaerobic part of the cell working is beginning to happen. before this I think that the fat burning processes were dominant and kept you slow. Now the chemistry is getting better.
(About the 1600) I agree - it didn't FEEL particulary fast - it felt difficult and not smooth at all - but my system delivers something now it hasn't been delivering in a long time.
And the 50:s - in the first series I felt like violence - and on the second one i felt softer (mentally - not punishing myself enough) but checking time I was a bit faster in the second series which MIGHT mean there was an on the spot adaptation - OR that i cutting the turnarounds shorter.

I mean; the first session felt like violence - not "I" felt like violence...
