-RACE-
Half marathon in Ruissalo, Turku.
1:20:45. Second.
(30 min warm up with strides)
*About same time as last year, started fast and was leading by 100 m at 3K - winner got my back at 6 and I stayed with him until 8.5K and after that it was hard. Main project was to get myself into goal without slowing too much. Happy with being second in a race this size (1480 runners all in all) but not so happy with time - would have liked to see clear progress from last year. But OK. This is where I am now and let's see what happens next Sunday in the Seven Lakes Race.

Given that you raced last week twice and completely depleted during thr second run, that makes this a much better performance than last year. You were clearly not recovered and short of sugar but you ran the same.
The key now is make sure that you are recovered for next week. MY inclination is to easy run fat burning all week (on the watch) twice a day and just do a few strides each day to keep the technique.
OK i think you are right, otherwise I would have done something like 12x 300 on pure principle. But I will slow run now - I feel close to catching a cold, I think I can avoid it if I stay smart - have been moving furniture all day today in two separate 6-story houses and I feel I got myself some good strenghtwork - arms shaky and otherwise tired also.
