Look carefully and see that if you overdo it then the rest has to be a too great reduction in mileage. For this winter, better to do the longer work slightly easier and then maintain a better mileage on the rest week. that will give you a greater total overall. It is this that will create the change in heart size and increase in muscle capillary bed, not the effort.
Focus: To finish the summer with a final spell of hard lactate tolerance & speed endurance work - and racing a couple of track races (and several road races) in order to get at least one decent result on 800 m this summer. So far only 2:02, I want to see a sub 2:00 time before winter begins.
